Enjoy!
Great progress on this emulator Adam, thanks for all your hard work! I noticed that the color overlay in Breakout is hard-coded into the exe rather than as an external file. Do you have any plans to add MAME-style bezel/overlay files? It would be great to have the pipes/tunnels and text in Stunt Cycle. Also, I believe Gotcha had a solid amber overlay (although it's possible the one I saw had its CRT replaced with an amber tinted computer monitor).
ReplyDeleteFurther artwork support is one thing, but I first prefer seeing more games being supported since there are a few other non-cpu videogames with roms already dumped at this time.
DeleteWow! The best Arcade-emulation related news in a long time ! Another milestone has been set! Thank you very very much Adam.
ReplyDeleteP.S: I couldn't agree more with Darren's comment: I think that the use of color overlays is the way to go ;)
Once again, great work Adam. Another old-time Atari game being supported is the tops.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen or played Exidy Attack when it was in arcades. Good to see what the game looks like.
Incredible. Please keep them coming. I wish I new enough to contribute. If you add overlay support I'd be glad to clean up some of the bezels, marquees...Etc
ReplyDeleteI agree with the earlier poster. More simulation would be better for now, bells and whistles later.
Awesome! I'm so glad you are continuing support for this emulator. This is one of the coolest projects happening right now in emulation.
ReplyDeleteFantastic job Adam!!! Absolutely fantastic!!! :D
ReplyDeleteCool Emulator, thanks! I got myself an adapter for Atari 2600 controllers ("2600-daptor ii") so I can use the Atari 2600 Paddles on the PC. They work great in Stella, wouldn't that be something for Dice as well? Early games seem to use paddles quite offen.
ReplyDeleteHi there - I'm a huge fan of DICE and am really happy to see how it's progressing.
ReplyDeleteOne thing: I did notice a problem with the makefile on OS X. Basically, OS X is defined as a target (and is sensed properly by the makefile), but there don't appear to be any build rules defined for it; Linux and Windows are fine. The link I provided goes back to the posting I made a couple of weeks ago on mameworld about this; richr suggested posting about it over here.
Are there any plans to correct this in a future release? I'd like to be able to fire up the emulator without also having to start up VMware :) Thanks!
I've been looking into adding OS X support for a while now, but unfortunately some of the libraries DICE uses don't fully support OS X, so there's a bit more work required beyond changing the Makefile. Anyway, *hopefully* should have everything working by the 0.8 release but can't guarantee anything!
DeleteSounds good, and thanks. Out of curiosity, which libraries are the issue?
DeleteI love this software emulation! it's very successful! :) Saddly, I can't play 0.6 on my Windows XP. I there a way to fix this problem???
ReplyDeleteI think it has somthing to fo with the 64bit 32bit properties of a Windows 7 and Windows XP
DeleteWhy was MAME unable to emulate this?
ReplyDeleteThese games are said to be 'unMAMEable' meaning MAME games were based off CPU like Avalanche
Deleteor Super Bug, the games that DICE plays are simple logic, therefore being unplayable in MAME
Hey, Adam! I love the DICE emulator, can you add a few more games in the newer releases? Like Pin-Pong or Jet Fighter? Thanks :)
